The History of the Festival

The concept of a community wine walk began with a dream shared between the creative and motivated individuals in Montrose to offer a new weekend event. During 2007, several Susquehanna County wineries began to present chocolate truffles by Chocolates By Leopold flavored by their best wines. This classic pairing of chocolate and wine encouraged the inclusion of wine in what was then called the Montrose Chocolate and Wine Festival.

After 11 years and raising over $280,000 for the county, organizers of the Montrose Chocolate and Wine Festival announced they would transition event coordination to the United Way of Susquehanna County. For United Way of Susquehanna County, which is focused on helping children, families, and the entire regional community, the event is a perfect fit.
